John F. Bolton

General Counsel

John Bolton is Phoenix Partners’ General Counsel. He is responsible for overseeing the firm’s legal and compliance function and is a core member of the firm’s leadership team.

He joined Phoenix Partners in 2008 from Nixon Peabody, where he was a Partner. His practice focused on complex business and corporate litigation, including matters relating to Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement issues, managed-care contract disputes, real property and leasing disputes, medical-record access cases, and a variety of commercial and tort matters. He has also litigated numerous non-competition and trade secret claims, shareholder disputes, corporate disputes, and derivative actions.

Mr. Bolton earned his JD from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College. A member of the American and New York bar associations, he is admitted to practice in New York and the Eastern and Southern districts of New York. He is also very involved with the Nassau County Bar Association. In 2008, The Long Island Business News recognized Mr. Bolton as one of Long Island’s most noteworthy people in business via its “40 Under 40″ award.
