Wesley Wang

Wesley Wang is widely regarded as one of the pioneers in emerging markets. During his time at Eurobrokers Maxcor, Mr. Wang was instrumental in developing and deploying the first successful live screen system for Brady Bonds and EMG corporate bonds and setting up the protocols by which the bonds are traded. Working with the Cotton Exchange he helped create the Emerging Markets Debt Index, the first index to track emerging market sovereign risk.
Prior to joining Phoenix Partners, Mr. Wang was a partner at Axiom Global Partners, a New York-based credit derivatives inter-dealer broker. While there he executed the first billion dollar index trade on the street. He has worked on the equity derivatives desk at GFI and also on the emerging markets desk at Intercapital.
Mr. Wang was born in Taipei, Taiwan. After graduating with honors from Phillip Exeter Academy, he then earned an B.A. cum laude in Government from Dartmouth College. For his coursework in Government and Business he received an academic citation as acknowledgement of exceptional work. He served as social chair of his fraternity Tri-Kappa for 3 years.
Mr. Wang is an avid snowboarder, kiteboarder, and scuba diver. He is also very interested in charity causes and is active with the Wildlife Alliance, World Wildlife Fund, and Ocean Conservancy as well as numerous other conservation efforts.
