The Phoenix Foundation Supports Police Unity Tour
NEW YORK - The Phoenix Foundation, the charitable organization founded by leading interdealer broker Phoenix Partners Group, today announced a $3,000 charitable donation to Police Unity Tour, an annual event held to build public awareness for the number of law enforcement personnel killed in the line of duty. The donation was made to the chapter affiliated with law enforcement personnel serving northern New Jersey.
Launched in 1997, Police Unity Tour is an annual charity event designed to draw attention to the hundreds of police officers and other law enforcement personnel killed in the line of duty each year. It is estimated that a law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty every 53 hours in the U.S. Each May, hundreds of police officers and law enforcement supporters from around the country participate in a bicycle ride to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. to honor the service and sacrifice of those who died. Funds raised during this charitable event are donated to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, which built and maintains the Memorial.
“The Phoenix Foundation is proud to support Police Unity Tour,” said Akasha Absher, president of The Phoenix Foundation. “We applaud tour participants’ commitment to remembering the fallen and are honored to help them in their efforts to raise public awareness for the tragic, ultimate sacrifice made in the line of duty by so many police officers and law enforcement personnel each year.”
